ok. count me stubborn eh.. yesterday i was cooking fried rice for dinner. was alone at home.
i wanted to take a bowl from one of the cabinets beneath the stove. dumb me. i forgot that i will get giddy if i bent over too much. Instead of squating down to look for the bowl, i bent down. the next thing i knew.. my vision went black, and i slammed onto the floor. thank god it was just a few seconds before i regained concious (the fire on the stove was still on). but i didnt felt any better either.. i sat on the floor, my mind spinning like a marry-go-round. It took me a couple of minutes before i overcame the giddy spells and continued on with the cooking.
So logically I should have rest at home since i'm not feeling well right? But stubborn me. I still went ahead to catch a movie with sherwin and boon kiat despite what happened earlier on. So anyway, we went to jp for their dinner first, before going to marina square to catch "click".
"click" is indeed a nice movie. It depicts about a guy who was so frustrated about his work and family. Until one day, he was introduced to an 'universal remote control' , which totally changed his life. Although advised about the "it was just cereal at the end of the rainbow" theory, he went ahead to 'forward' out the irritating part of his life, least knowing the drastic consequences he would face.
I would say one of the most touching scenes was that after he realised that his father was dead and he had actually 'forward' out the part when his father died, he rewind back to the scene when he had last seen his father and deeply regretted for not caring for his father when he was alive.
Well, on top of that, i love the scenes of the dog doing something kinky with the duck. lol.
As a whole, I feel that each characters actually brings out or reflects a certain individual lifestlye. and the storylines, for example the relationship between the son and adam sandler, closely link to what is happening in our own life. This movie, I should say, somehow acts as a mirror to many.
What I learnt from this movie is that some things in life are indeed frustrating. At times we wish that SHIT dont happen or we wish to skip through all the SHIT, hoping to only experience the 'happy moments'. But at the end of the day, it might be just cereal at the end of the rainbow. Cherish every moment you are living in now. Cherish the loved ones around you. Cause its the experiencing of these SHIT (and also other happy moments, of course) that will actually lead us to finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
This movie is definitely a great movie for families to catch, well except for the little kinky part about the dog and the duck, which boys should know in 10 years and girls in 30 years. =)
Anyway, back to the topic. So after the movie, it was already 1130pm. Logically, I should have taken a cab home to rest, especially after what happened earlier on in the day, but again, the stubborn me... I went to boon kiat's house instead with sherwin to sleep over. BUT, I fell asleep shortly after we reached his house, so i didnt stay up too late either. Oh yar, the 'too late' wasnt really that early either as it actually refers to 3am... =p coz we actually went to esplanade for supper and walked along the bay for a couple of hours after the movies before deciding to take the cab back.
So to end off. I'm here wishing all the teachers a wonderful happy teacher's day! =)
